StackDiet has no required user account. Tool names, prices and workflow notes entered in a subscription review are processed in your browser, without being sent to an analysis server. Optional draft saving stores these inputs on this device; turn it off or clear the input to remove the saved draft. When you open a pair from your review, the full input and selected jobs are available in this tab’s session storage for up to 30 minutes so you can return without retyping. These inputs are not put in the comparison URL or sent to an analysis server. Clear input removes this tab copy as well as the saved draft; avoid this workflow on a shared browser.
When you choose to plan renewals from a review, tool names and entered monthly equivalents are held in this tab for up to 30 minutes. You choose whether to add them to the renewal planner. Existing entries are preserved; monthly equivalents become reference notes, not next-charge amounts. Added entries are saved in the planner’s existing local storage on this device. No tool names, costs or notes are placed in the transfer URL or sent to an analysis server. Clear input removes pending review transfers; Clear all in the renewal planner removes its entries.
If you download review dates from the renewal planner, the calendar file contains tool names and your entered renewal and review dates. Costs and private notes are excluded. StackDiet creates the file in your browser and does not connect to or send it to a calendar service. If you later import it, your chosen calendar service receives those file contents and applies its own sharing and notification settings.
Campaign source labels may be kept in session storage for up to 24 hours so they can follow your review within this browser tab. This stores campaign labels, not the tool names, prices or notes you enter. Local event logs are not aggregate usage statistics.
Local diagnostic event records may contain event names and aggregate result numbers. They stay in this browser and are not central usage statistics. Optional drafts are separate and contain your entered tools, costs and notes. Avoid saving a draft on a shared device.
If you explicitly create and send a second-opinion link, it contains tool names. Costs and notes are excluded. The URL may be visible to the recipient, their browser history and the hosting infrastructure. Only share a list you are comfortable disclosing.
The “Help improve StackDiet” checkbox is off by default. When you opt in and measurement is connected, the browser sends only an allowed event name and a broad source group, such as Meta or search. The database stores daily totals by event and source: no tool names, prices, notes, user IDs, raw campaign labels or IP addresses. Sample reviews are counted separately from completed personal reviews.
These are event counts from consenting browsers, not unique visitors or a complete conversion measurement. Turning the checkbox off stops future usage events; existing anonymous totals cannot be linked back to you. If measurement is unavailable, the review continues to work.
Cloudflare hosts StackDiet and may process connection metadata under its own terms. Cloudflare Web Analytics provides aggregate site usage and performance data independently of the optional review-event counts. Infrastructure logs can contain network metadata; it is not written to the optional event-count database.
Approved affiliate vendors or networks may process referral data after a user voluntarily follows a tracked partner link, under their own privacy terms.
If you use the StackDiet feedback form, we store the category, title and message you submit, plus an email address only if you choose to provide one. Submissions are reviewed manually and are not published automatically.
To reduce spam and abuse, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile and a daily submission limit. For rate limiting, StackDiet stores a one-way hash derived from the connecting network address plus a private server-side salt; the raw IP address is not stored in the feedback database. Basic technical metadata such as browser user agent, referrer and the StackDiet page from which feedback was sent may also be stored for debugging and abuse prevention.
Feedback records may be marked as new, planned, completed, declined or spam for moderation purposes.
If you choose anonymous usage counts, StackDiet can count campaign page views and actions, review starts and completions, comparison views and completed comparisons, report downloads, and labelled vendor or partner-link opens. Only an allowed event name and a broad source channel are sent to StackDiet’s same-origin event endpoint. Tool names, prices, notes, full campaign tags, advertising click identifiers and user identifiers are not included in these custom events.
Your choice is stored on this device and can be changed on the review, comparison or campaign page. With this off, no custom usage event is sent. Source tags may be kept in tab storage for up to 24 hours to preserve public campaign context between StackDiet pages; they are not attached to vendor links. Counts are page actions, not unique users, sales or affiliate earnings. Cloudflare’s site analytics is separate.
The optional Jotform feedback link opens an external form for StackDiet. It is not loaded or embedded automatically, and StackDiet does not put your review, tool names, prices or notes into that link. If you use it, Jotform receives the feedback you choose to submit and handles form hosting and submission storage. An email address is optional; provide it and contact permission only if you want a reply. Jotform privacy information. The original moderated StackDiet form remains available separately.
